James W. Reed III, MD

James W. Reed III, MD is a Board Certified Family Medicine Primary Care physician in Bradenton, Florida with over 8 years of experience. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina in 2017. Prior to that, he graduated with honors from the Saint James School of Medicine in 2013, with most of his clinical training in Chicago, IL. Dr. Reed is originally from Clay, West Virginia, and he conducted his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University and the University of Charleston.

Dr. Reed settled in Bradenton, FL in 2017. He served as the lead physician and Medical Director of the Urgent Care Center at Pinnacle Medical Group from 2017 to 2021. Dr. Reed considers himself extremely honored for the opportunity to serve the families of Bradenton and Sarasota. He has enjoyed becoming engrained in the local medical community and building relationships with other specialists and medical service providers in the area.

Dr. Reed prides himself on practicing a “full scope” of Primary Care. He has experience and comfort across a broad range of clinical settings including Inpatient Medicine, Emergency Departments, ICUs, and of course, Outpatient Centers. Dr. Reed’s real passion is caring for his patients and optimizing health. His goal from the beginning of his medical journey has always been to start his own practice and provide excellent care to his community. His medical philosophy involves taking the time to get to know his patients, conducting thorough diagnostic workups, and forming effective yet realistic treatment plans. Dr. Reed’s main goal is to form partnerships with his patients, helping them achieve the best versions of themselves.

Dr. Reed is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Reed enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children. Dr. Reed has been involved in athletics and the outdoors for most of his life. He stays active today by swimming, boating, fishing, running, and pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
